Ⅱからつづく


ゴタ　：　Taira no Kiyomori was a top minister
　　　　　at the time of Buddhist Emperor Goshirakawa
　　　　　in the mid 12 centuries.
　　　　　He was fond of appreciating
　　　　　popular musical dance called shira-byoshi
　　　　　at that times.

　　　　　平清盛は、１２世紀、後白河法皇の時代、
　　　　　トップの大臣をしてました。
　　　　　清盛は、白拍子という、流行歌を聴くのが趣味でした。

　　　　　He spent days with Gioh who was
　　　　　the shira-byoshi dancer.
　　　　　One day a young　（17 years old)
　　　 　 shira-byoshi dancer,Hotoke-Gozen 　
　　　　　came and asked to dance there.

　　　　　清盛は、白拍子の祇王と日々を過ごします。
　　　　　ある日、若い白拍子の仏御前が、やってきて、　　　
　　　　　舞をさせてくれと言いました。

      　     At first Miyomori declined it
          　 because he had alredy Gioh.
           　Gioh was very kind and tried
           　to ask him to hire her.
           　Gioh persuaded him to take a
           　little look at her dance anyway.

　　　 　清盛は、一度は、断ったのですが、
          　祇王の懇願で、仏御前に
　　　　 舞うことを許しました。

             So Hotoke-Gozen began to dance
             her elegant dance.
             Kiyomori moved his heart from Gioh
           （19 years old ）to Hotoke-Gozen.
             Gioh was cast aside by Kiyomori.

　　　　 そうして、仏御前は、優雅な舞をし始めます。
　　　  　祇王は、捨てられました。　　　　

             Gioh ,feeling sorrow,
             became a Buddhist nun here.

　　　　 祇王は、悲しみを抑え、尼になりました。

             One day when Gioh was training Buddhism
             a young woman came and ask
             if she can be a nun to train
             Buddhim with her ?

　　　　  ある日、祇王が、仏の修行をしていると、
             うら若き女性がやって来ました。
             自分も、仏道修行がしたい、
             ここに住まわせてくれ、
　　　　 と言います。


             Hotoke-Gozen told her that
             she got aware that next would be her turn
             to be cast aside.
　　　　 She said she bewared clearly
             the impermanence of a good state of life.
　　　    And she decided to be a nun.

　　　　 仏御前が、言いますには、自分もやがて、同じように、
　　　　 捨てられる身。人生に無常を悟りました、と言って、　　　　
　　　　 出家することにしました。

             Then the two women spent here trainb Buddhism.
             Then after a while came
             Gioh's young sister, Gijo and her mother, Toji

　　　　 それからしばらくして、
　　　　 祇王の妹、祇女も、祇王の母、
      　    刀自（とじ）も、やって来ました。

　　　　   Also they asked to live the rest of
　　　　   life together waiting on Buddha.
　　　　   After that the four women
　　　　   lived here training Buddhism.

　　　　   彼女たちも、ここで、み仏にお仕えして、
　　　　   余生を送りたい、と言います。
　　　　   その後、４人の女性は、
　　　　   仏道修行をして、ここで暮らしました。


みなさん１：I feel sorry for the four lonely people.
　　　　　　お気の毒。


みなさん２：But I can see a certain true way of life in them.
　　　　　　でも、何か、真実味があるよね。生き方に。

　　　　　【化野念仏寺】

　　　　平安時代、空海が、この辺り、一帯に
　　　　野ざらしになっていた遺体を埋葬し、供養 　
　　　　したことに始まる寺。
　　
　　　　万灯供養が有名。ただし、真言宗ではありません。
　　　　法然が、この地を念仏道場にした経緯があり、
　　　　宗派は、浄土宗となっている。
